At a glance

The nearest toilet may not have a baby changing table. In Gotta Pee!, select Baby changing, then compare nearby results and check their details. If you have a pushchair or stroller, also check the entrance and space inside. A changing-table label does not confirm step-free access.

A changing table, a sink and a suitable entrance are separate needs

A baby changing label tells you that a changing facility is recorded for a place. It does not automatically mean there is a separate family room, space for a pushchair or an entrance without steps. Read the description and look at available photos before choosing where to go.

For a parent or carer with a baby, water for washing hands and a clear description of the entrance may matter as much as distance. With an older child, an ordinary toilet on the ground floor might meet the immediate need. Choose the facilities that matter for this visit rather than selecting every filter.

Search for a baby changing table in Gotta Pee!

  1. Open the app and allow it to locate your phone.
  2. Select Baby changing to find places with a baby changing table.
  3. If needed, also select Water for water or Free for free facilities.
  4. Compare the closest results and open their details: entrance description, photos, comments and known opening hours.
  5. Tap Navigate for the in-app map and direction arrow.

Several selected filters are combined: a place must match all of them to appear. If the nearest result is far away, remove a less important condition and compare the options. No matching record does not prove that there is no changing table nearby; the information may not have been added yet.

Ask specific questions when the listing is incomplete

Ask staff whether they have a baby changing table, where it is and whether you can reach it with a pushchair. Check who can enter the room: a changing table inside one set of toilets is not the same as a family room available to every parent or carer. You may also need to ask for a key.

If the room is upstairs, ask about the lift and whether it is working. At an airport, station or attraction, find out whether the facility is before or after a ticket barrier or security check. A nearby map pin cannot tell you that you are allowed into that part of the building.

Plan a stop that fits your outing

Before a long walk in an unfamiliar city, check a suitable toilet near your first destination or planned break. If you are driving, look for parking information and confirm the route from the car to the entrance. Have another option in mind when a listing has little detail or uncertain hours.

A slightly more distant toilet with easy access may be more practical than one reached by stairs. Gotta Pee!'s direction arrow helps with orientation, but it does not verify a pushchair-friendly route. Look out for crossings, kerbs, steps and temporary works.

What if you cannot find a listed changing facility?

Ask at the venue's information desk, a tourist information point or another staffed location nearby. Say that you need a baby changing table, not simply a bathroom. This helps avoid being directed to a room that does not meet your needs. Confirm any conditions of entry.

On arrival, check the equipment and follow its instructions. If the changing table is damaged or cannot be used safely, tell the staff. A community map entry is not a live inspection of the equipment.

A baby changing table is also different from an adult changing bench or a fully equipped Changing Places toilet. Do not rely on the baby changing filter for those needs; confirm the exact equipment with the venue.

Share a useful update for the next family

After your visit, sign in and review the place. Select Add details to confirm the changing table and any other features you checked. A comment about the floor, entrance, key or availability to different carers can save someone an unnecessary search.

A photo of the sign or an empty room can help if you can take it without compromising anyone's privacy. If the toilet is missing from the map, you can add it after signing in. Our step-by-step app guide explains how. Download Gotta Pee! before your next family outing.
